Letter: Burnley sold down the river, again!
After reading our Lib Dem MPs 'Westminster Week' dated 16/09/11, I feel very strongly that I should be allowed to make comment on his actions in the Health and Social Care Bill. He has now shown his true colours on this issue; and he should hang his head in shame.
Our MP has sold the people of Burnley down the river yet again...
Tell me Mr Birtwistle, is this a fit of rage because people now see your claims of returning the A+E unit back to Burnley General Hospital were nothign more than lies to get elected or is it just your usual trick of riding any bandwagon that passes gone wrong? Whichever; you can rest assured that your claims now hold very little credence among the people of this town, they see through your protestations.
YOUR own government has now stated that, it is closing A+E wards and a number of smaller hospitals and amalgamating them into larger units in various towns. It has also been stated by your government that certain specialities will also be moved into similar hospitals. I take it that this is to include psychiatric services and alzhiemers sufferers, in our case it would seem to be Blackburn for psychiatric, and Blackpool for altzhiemers. Along with other readers of this paper we are now of the opinion that you've simply followed your leader and voted with the government, reguardless of what Burnley people want.
